Become an MEA Political Activist!

What Does It Mean To Become an "MEA Political Activist"?

     It means that you want to help the Maine Education Association achieve one of its Strategic Goals; "To Become The Most Influential Political  Action Group In Maine".  In order to accomplish this goal, you are willing to:

1.  Help organize MEA members in your school, in your community, and in your legislative district to lobby members of the Maine State Legislature in support of MEA's Legislative priorities;

2.  Help organize MEA members in your school, in your community, and in your legislative district to elect "pro-public education" candidates;

3.  If the MEA initiates a statewide signature gathering effort in support of a "Citizens' Referendum" to increase state funding for public schools in Maine, you will be willing to help organize MEA members in your school, in your community, and in your legislative district to gather signatures and generate community support of such a referendum.

4.  Help MEA become the "Most Influential Political Action Group in Maine".
