In the 1841 census Samuel and Mary were living at Stone Cross with
their daughter Eliza Dolling. He was then aged 70 years and an Innkeeper.

By 1851 Mary was dead and he is living with Henry Burgess Yeo, his son,
who was unmarried and his daughter Ann

.Samuel left a will and left 'Stone' to his nephew Edward Thomas Spourerin 1857,
so the property could be sold and the money shared between his children.
