Scrambling with Mark.
Mount Burstall is yet another terrific scramble in a beautiful area of the Peter Lougheed Provincial Park. The upper ridge provides most of the excitement, with some exposed and steep scrambling, and we therefore used a short rope. The ridge and summit also provide outstanding views of Mount Sir Douglas and its smaller neighbours. On a clear day, it's a great trip requiring minimal effort.

At the saddle; a great view of stunning Mount Robertson

The crux; the ascent route goes up the crack to my right; the footing is good, however, the climb is fairly exposed and a fall would probably be fatal

Mark ascending more steep terrain just before the summit

A terrific summit view of Mount Robertson and Mount Sir Douglas

Mark at the summit, with (you guessed it!) Mount Robertson behind

A summit view looking the other way (north); Mount Birdwood dominates at the left side of the picture
