Eiffel Peak attempt
Failed solo scramble.
There was a 6 person per group restriction in the area (grizzlies), and so I hooked up with another group and headed towards Larch Valley, on this relatively clear morning. Unfortunately, as I approached the valley and left the trail for Eiffel Peak, heavy clouds and brisk winds came in from the west and it started to snow. I made it up a scree slope to the base of the mountain and waited. I spent the next hour sitting on a huge rock, getting covered in snow, and gazing to the west, hoping that the sky would clear. No such luck and I had to call it a day.

Eiffel Peak
Scrambling with Mark and Holland.
Eiffel Peak is another fantastic scramble in a stunningly beautiful setting. Since my first failed attempt, 9 months earlier, I had been looking forward to taking another stab at this shapely peak.
The ascent was straightforward and very enjoyable, with a few hands-on places, no exposure, interesting and varied terrain, and great scenery throughout. At the summit, the views, of course, were amazing - Paradise Valley (with a couple of unusually coloured tarns), Mounts Hungabee, Deltaform, Aberdeen, Temple, Pinnacle, the Ten Peaks with Fay Glacier, and stunning Eiffel Tower. Overall, definitely one of the most enjoyable scrambles I've done.

From the ascent slopes of Eiffel; Moraine Lake, Mount Babel (center), glaciated Mount Fay (right of center), and miniscule Tower of Babel (at the far left) - another good scramble (and dead-easy too!)
