Basic Idea

Goal:

Through the internet, provide evaluation, consulting or training to organizations in developing countries that are doing some programs, and want to know whether their program is working, doing something, etc. This service would be provided for free.

Process:

Discuss the idea on relevant email lists and contact evaluation associations in developing regions for feedback, to find out what may work, what is needed, who may want to be involved.

Possible resources to be provided:

Resources could include training specifically prepared for program people in developing countries. The training material would be available on the web, in form easily available for people with limited internet connection.

Alternatively, the resources could include consulting with the program people in developing countries. Experienced evaluators would volunteer to review programs and advise how to evaluate or would respond to specific questions or issues.

The discussions with evaluation associations and evaluators will determine how the project will procede.
