Web gallery of Art   http://www.wga.hu/   This site is a virtual museum and searchable database of European painting and sculpture of the Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque periods (1100-1800), currently containing over 12,400 reproductions.  A contact for the site wrote to me that the site "is intended to be a resource of art history primarily - but not exclusively - for students and teachers. Consequently, we encourage them to use the Gallery as an on-line art resource without any restrictions. Furthermore, we support the projects aiming to set up special purpose educational, religious and other public service oriented non-profit websites by using some images of the Gallery. If your project falls into these categories we give you the required permission."
