Cool Effect

  • Open a 640 x 480 canvas then hit the "D" Key to reset your colors.

  • Select your Linear Gradient tool and set it to "Difference".

  • Run the gradient in a long stroke, then in a bunch of random, short, strokes.

  • Now, go to "Filter > Distort > Wave

  • Set the numbers as follows

    Number of Generators: 104

    Wavelength: Min: 122, Max : 183

    Amplitude: Min: 1, Max: 71

    Scale: Horizontal: 100%, Vertical: 100%

    Type: Triangle

    Undefined Areas: Repeat Edge Pixels

Then hit "Randomize" until you get the desired effect (Long, Fat triangles coming out of the left side)

  • Go to "Filter > Artistic > Plastic Wrap" and then select these following numbers

    Highlight Strength: 8

    Detail: 10

    Smoothness: 7

    7) Now, one more filter for this layer. Go to "Filter > Sketch > Chrome"

    Details: 0

    Smoothness: 0

  • Now Invert the layer, and create a new layer underneath the one we just made.

  • Go to the bottom layer (hide the one that's on top), and use your Gradient tool again (Base colors, Linear, Difference) and make this layer much the same as you did the last one, except this time, make the majority of it white.

  • Now make a new layer on top of it all, and fill it with #0017FF. Set this layer to Overlay. Cool looking already huh?

***Optional*** Duplicate the Blue layer and set it to Overlay again.

  • Go back to the spike layer that we started with and then set it to Overlay as well.

  • YAY! ALL DONE! With just a bit of imagination, this could become something quite coolio.
