Our
purpose is to promote voter awareness at the collegiate, local
and state level, to support the Republican Party, and to provide
services to the community. The GC&SU chapter of
College Republicans was started by our current Chairman, Jennifer
Smith. Our first meeting was held on September 11, 2003,
and our first Executive Committee was formed on September
29, 2003.
We
hold regular meetings every Thursday at 7:00pm in Arts &
Sciences 272. Our meetings are open to all GC&SU
students. We have guest speakers, formal and informal
discussions of issues, and offer many opportunities for students
to become involved in the political process.
In
our final meeting of 2003, J.D. Easley was elected as Chairman
for the Spring 2004 semester.
