 HOW DO WE JOIN
A DECADE A DAY
OR START IT IN OUR AREA?
A Decade A Day is for everyone - all ages. The schools have the opportunity to instill in the children a habit of prayer. It is recommended for the housebound, unwell and solo prayer people.
There are no rules: simply offer one decade of the Rosary each day for world peace in answer to Pope John Paul 11's request.
TO START IT IN YOUR SCHOOL:
Prayer is a necessary accompaniment to working with A Decade A Day. It is hoped that prayer is offered before any activity on behalf of A Decade A Day.
- Simply contact us and give us your contact details.
- Approach the School Principal and explain that A Decade A Day has been accepted by thousands of children in many schools throughout Australia and other countries and you are inviting this school to participate.
- Explain the reasons behind A Decade A Day.
- Offer to provide Rosary beads - which are best left in class so they do not get lost.
- Return to the school with blessed Rosary beads and leave them at the Office.
- Later you can return to the school with Membership Certificates for the children to fill in and take home.
- Catechists in the State schools are also provided with Rosary beads for their students.
We have found the school principals and religious co-ordinators to be very enthusiastic.
Sometimes a group is formed to obtain donations or fund raise to buy the Rosary beads. This is very desirable because more and more people are talking about the Rosary and the school children and word spreads. Enthusiasm grows. Some groups have gone on to approach all the schools in their Diocese.
Membership Certificates
These help the children realise that they are doing something important - that thousands of others are doing it too. Also they have something to take home to show the family - and evangelise them.
