SOME FEEDBACK ABOUT A DECADE A DAY
A Letter from the Religious Education Co-ordinator at St Peter & St Paul's Goulburn:
Our school has been a different place since we introduced A Decade A Day and hopefully our prayers are helping to bring peace to the world. I found the October newsletter interesting and thought you might like to hear some of the stories filtering through here at St Peter and Paul's.
· One Kinder mum mentioned that her son wanted Rosary beads for his birthday, which she thought was lovely but the family weren't Catholic!
· A Grandmother was so thrilled to see her son go back to Church after not going for many years because his son wanted to go to Church to pray the Rosary.
· Another Mum telling of her 5 year old going to bed each night with the Rosary and falling asleep with them. He has also been teaching his family how to say the 'Hail Mary".
· A number of children have been coming to school with Rosary beads and Mary pictures found at home or at their Grandparents' house; surfacing after being in cupboards for a long time.
· A six year old girl took everything off her bedside table to replace it with the Rosary beads placed in a circle. In the centre she placed things that God had created.
· A number of families saying their child makes the family say a decade of the Rosary before dinner (and even a number before breakfast!)
I hope you are as thrilled with these stories as we are. The best part is that the children are evangelising to their parents. The Rosary has been accepted so quickly at school and to think it spreading into the community is exciting. We also have a Rosary statue of Mary going to homes on a weekly basis.
………………………
Another school has their 600 pupils saying A Decade A Day at the school assembly every day.
………………………
A little boy was upset that he could not take his Rosary beads home from school so he bought a set out of his pocket money so he could say the Rosary with his grandmother.
…………………………
One Class at another school all wrote to us. These are some of the letters:
From their dedicated teacher:
To all my students, the Rosary was a new prayer, and they have been enthusiastic and dedicated in praying a decade of the Rosary each morning to begin class.
From the children:
We would like to say thank you for the rosary beads and have been saying them everyday.
Thank you for sending us our rosary beads. My class and I have been doing a decade a day since May is the month of the rosary. We are very grateful you have sent us rosary beads. We even have a membership card from the Pope. We are on our way to be making peace!!
My name is …. I am a girl and I go to St James. Our class and teacher have been saying a decade a day. Our teacher has been picking different people to say it. I just want to say thank you for the rosary.
Hello my name is …. Thank you for the nice pretty rosary beads. We say the Our Father every morning before we go to English. We have been using them gentle well and good. Thank you for your love and caring responsibility. God bless you and your generous family. From your friend ….
Thanks to you we can say the rosary everyday. Every morning we get out our rosary beads and say the rosary, but if you didn't supply the rosary beads, we wouldn't be saying the rosary. Many thanks.
Don't these make all our efforts worthwhile?
