Official ScareCrow Forums FAQs

    1. Question: Who created ScareCrow?
ScareCrow was created by Jonathan Bravata. You may reach him through this forum under the username "jbravata."
    2. Question: Is ScareCrow really free?
In every sense of the word, yes.

ScareCrow is released under the GPL. What that means to you is that not only are you free to download and use it, but you can distribute it to whomever you wish, you can modify it and call it your own, you can dissect portions of the code out and use them in your own applications--even commercial applications--and you are perfectly within your rights. What I ask is that you leave the ScareCrow copyright notice on the software; however, you are under no obligation to do so. You may remove in from the code at any time without ill effect.

To see the full terms of the GPL, check it out on the GNU website.
    3. Question: Where should I put my post?
If your post has to do with a bug in the software, place it in the "Bug Reports" forum. If it is a feature request, place it in the "Feature Requests" forum. If you are looking for help on how to use or set up the ScareCrow software, place the message in the "Support" forum. If you're just messing around and getting a feel for the software, please make those posts in the "Testing Room" forum. Any posts that do not go in one of those forums should be in the "ScareCrow General Discussion" forum.
    4. Question: Can I e-mail you?
Please don't. I am well aware that my e-mail address is available online and that in the course of some of my other projects I have made e-mails public. However, in addition to developing ScareCrow and working on my other projects, I am also a full-time student majoring in Advanced Computer Science at Illinois State University. I just don't have time to answer your e-mails.

If you need some help, try posting in the forums and see if somebody else has the answer. I will try to come by from time to time to check on the forums and offer what assistance I can, but how frequent my visits may be, I don't know.

Sorry folks. That is the downside of free software; I can't offer quality support.
